We fail to recognize the wonder and awesomeness of everyday experience. Church Anniversary is one such event in the life of a church that we sometimes take for granted. We sometimes say, “it’s just another day”. I submit to you that this is not just another day. Rather, it is another mile stone; a mile stone not to step over, but one to step on in order to get to where God is leading. The Bible says that the step of the righteous is ordered by God. Likewise, the steps of a church and its congregation of gathered believers are also ordered by God. We ought to carefully consider our next step. Are we in step with the present age, are we in tone to where God is leading us, and are we in the direction towards our full possibilities and potentials? These are the questions for us today as we celebrate where God has brought us from and as we contemplate where God is leading. It is my prayer and hope that each of us continue to put our hands to the Gospel plow and our feet on this years mile stone. We are not there yet! Therefore, let us remain steadfast, unmovable, and always abiding in the works of the Lord, so that our labor will not be in vain.

			OUR MISSION The Mission of the Matthews Murkland Presbyterian Church is to serve GOD and humanity through sharing, caring, and spreading the good news of the Gospel. PURPOSE We believe that the Matthews Murkland Presbyterian Church exists in order to maintain sacred worship, to attend to the spiritual development of its members, to provide service to the church and community, to search for the truth as we spread the good news of Jesus Christ, to the whole of God’s creation.
